being one of the oldest members on delcampe, #301, i seldom honk my own horn about what i sell here but not today. just startin' to list a few items that might interest you philatelists out there. september is usually the end of everyone's vacations as the kids get back in school. and we have time to kick back and play on the computers. so if you have some free time, stop on by cajun's lil' shack by the swamp and have some cafe au lait, chew the fat, and look at his collection for sale. here is my store link:

I had a look at your stamps, mostly looked at the "British Colonies" ( We say "British Commonwealth now" !)
Some lovely sets there.
I wish you luck with selling them.
BTW - how do you make that Link work, I never found out how to do that.

well, when i'm on the page i want to use, i use the pointer to highlight the browser address, then press the right mouse button to get my list and choose copy, then i can paste it on my message on the forum. delcampe's software then makes it a link. this works with any browser address. e.g. (Link (http)). give it a try. it is ok to use your storefront on delcampe and not against the rules. after all that is why you are here.

p.s.-the listing is british colonies. perhaps a new one under br. commonweath should be done. remember this was during colonial empire days, and not all were commonweath countries.

You are quite right, many of those Countries were never in the Commonwealth,
But the term "Colonial" is rather Non-PC now, also Stanley Gibbons always calls their Catalogs "British Commonwealth" so in UK we use that wording.

as my sales are part of Delcampe, why would he object to my advertising my Delcampe store on his Delcampe site?

As for my prices of my auctions, most of my items are unique or out of stock items. i let my buyers determine whether they are worth the value. if they sell, ok; if not, i may revalue them. i am but a small seller and philatelist, not a volume dealer. i do not make a living from this hobby. i only wish to share it with my philatelic cousins. and to reduce the clutter my wife complains about in 'her' house (my head )

I understand that if it was (allowed) the forum will just be a succession of adds like

And about your items on sale , still regarding the joint issue topic that I know , come on , FDC Sc. 2006 a unique item ?!?!! 20 bucks !?!! Crazy , I think CV is max 2-3 $ and can easilly be found for under 1$ !

US Columbus S/S at 75 $ !!! CV is what , 30$ ? market price maybe 15-20 ?

Of course all are "out of sale" items .... like 99,99% of all philatelic material on earth ....

Be more reasonable , this is defintly not a good advertising for you (this , actually I don't care if you don't sell) but also very bad for the site itself ... what do you believe a new member will think when scrolling down your sales ? "God , what expensive is this site , ebay is 10 time cheaper"

Sorry , I don't want to be agressive but I believe having a such high price policy is a nuissance for the site , it overcharge it with items that will never be sold and make possible new members fly away ...

this is what my criteria for allowing my advertisments is based on. if the webmaster is against this, i am sure he will notify me or delete this section. or clarify this rule. by the by, my brother is an international lawyer and may assume that i am also allowed to advertise as a member. i could ask for a legal opinion.

as for my auctions, your opinion is, of course, your own. i don't make judgements of what others sell on delcampe or their prices. i consider it not my business. i was simply showing my goods and not trying to stifle anyone other's auctions. i suppose this has been done to me by you, but i hold no malice about it. it is a very competitive market and i have been here for over 6 years (member #301). i am in no hurry to sell.

Well , was just question of sense ... how do you think the forum will looks like if everybody advertise for their sales ? By the by , Should I understand you brother is specialized in Belgian laws ?

I give you a scan of a real rare item , but even if very rare , I don't think it could be sold for more than 40-50 $ ...

'stifle' means 'To prevent from speaking or to prevent a view being heard.' and if i implied your comments would have a bad influence on my sales, i guess that was obvious, but i said i was not angry about it. my brother could certainly find out about belgian laws as he has a staff of lawyers in his london office that know all the european laws. but i think this would be an argument best left to sebastien. he is the owner and it is ultimately his decision to allow things on the forum. however, i will say this, i have certainly seen ads that are not in complete compliance with the forum rules and nothing done about it. as for your cover, if the signatures are indeed genuine and can be verified with provenance, i would ask a lot more than your price. i recently sold a cover signed by 3 u.s. astronauts for around $300.00 u.s. with provenance provided. perhaps you should look at some auction catalogs like nutmeg and others to see what some rariteties are selling for, or at least given estimated values. a good weekend to you cousin.

no , the signatures are not genuine , I guess they were printed together with the illustration , what makes the rarity of the cover is having both US and USSR stamps first day cancelled affixed on same cover (CV about 200-250 US$ , maybe more ...) ; tell me if you're interessed I've got an article written by one man who did the travel Moscow - Cape Canaveral in 1975 to make mixed franking covers (unfortunatly , he was unable to use the same design stamps as the russian ones wern't on sale when he left Russia)
The cover shown was (probably) prepared afterwards within the 8 weeks (?) allowed to ask for US first day cancel.

To go back on this thread topic , I believe international or national laws have nothing to do with forum rules (if of course , they respect the laws) , I just though not advertise for his store on the forum is obvious , the store is the store , the forum is the forum ; as postcardpiggy said , he's got 3500 cards on sale , why not opening 3500 thread ?

Hello to you all.With regards to free advertising .Look at BOBPLUSDOG under Delcampe .UK .Whoopee I am no 3.Is that not free advertisig.As a Gold Member I beleive like Cajun ( Bronze ) that we are not breaking any Laws. However being in Saudi Arabia I write to the Forums so that members say "Who is Bobplusdog " and they see he is a New Member this year ,100% Feedback, Gold Member as well and sells good stamps at Reasonable prices (approx 30% cat) .So what i just wrote is a 100% Free Advertising.Any complaints see\write to Cajuns brother.
