Could one of you knowledgeable guys please inform me how to cancel a sale.
There's no drama - one of my buyers made an error and has asked me to cancel the BUY NOW item. I want to oblige.
Many thanks.
Georgie
bonjour georgie,
i don't think there is a mechanism in place for cancellation of a bid or sale. my suggestion for you is to contact delcampe directly with this problem and get advice from them. in the meantime, you do have up to 3 months to retrieve your 'commission' fee. all you need to do is provide an explanation like the one given. sebastien realizes mistakes are made by his members, so the rules are bendable.
un bonne WE a vous 'downunder'.

cajunsr.
p.s. - i have 2 good internet friends in nambucca head near sydney, only 400 miles north. just a hop, skip, and a 'roo' jump.

Thank you, cajunsr. for your kind reply.
It was not an expensive item so I will wear the commission.
I am sure you would enjoy Nambucca Heads as it has a very good beach. (Sydney beaches are much better but too crowded).

bonsoir georgie,
yes, from what carlos and rina have told me, it is very beautiful there. but i don't know about swimming with them great whites. we have enough sharks here in florida. esp. when it floods.
My Control Panel : Unpaid Items : Option 1 "I wish to cancel a single sale"
or
Option 2 "I wish to cancel several sales for the same buyer".
Then relist your items.
You will get a credit for the missed sale.
Stefano
That's correct Scview but by doing it that way Delcampe considers the sale not paid for no matter what you give for an excuse and sends the buyer a warning email .

bonsoir karl,
this is true and there should be another mechanism in place for a friendly type of mutual auction closure. this way, no foul-no harm.
That's done by the bidder retracting his bid like I originally stated .
bonjour karl,
ah, but then we come again to the initial problem and the creation of the 'vicious' circle. it seems there are no winners on each side for this dilemna. oh well, let mr. seb sort it out and get the grey hairs, i have enough of my own.
un bonne dimanche a vous. (despite the razorback win over LSU )

bonjour karl,
yes, perhaps only in the 'friendly' situation, but not all are such. some sellers are not as agreeable with a cancellation as i was when the customer's excuse was -"i found an item for lower cost." well, why did he bid on my lot to begin with? i feel this should not be an excuse for relinquishment from honoring a bid. i certainly research the auctions and read the descriptions, then ask questions before making my decisions for my bids. it is the one reason i always give the wise latin advice...
CAVEAT EMPTOR - BUYER BEWARE. perhaps an arbitration board would be best for these situations. i do not think this is covered by the present one (read the guides and manuals).

Thank you all for your help.
Is it really possible for a buyer to retract a bid on a BUY IT NOW purchase?
I said all along this was a BUY NOW purchase. In an auction situation I can see how he can retract a bid but not in this instance. It would be "strange" to say the least.

Hope you all have a good week wherever you are.

bonsoir georgie,
well, i guess the customer should be 'always' right. as long as he isn't a 'deadbeat' buyer. now, back to my american football games.
'ope ya 'ave a bonza Chrissy an' 'ere's 'oping the goannas don't piddle on ya when ya standin' still and the flies don't poo on ya when ya movin'.
And don't go spending too much time at the boozer drinking plonk with the Sheilas.
I'll put another shrimp on the barbie for you for Chrissy dinner but you'd probably prefer it in a gumbo..
Don't go asking your Aussie friends for a translation - work it out yourself.
